Pouya is a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors in New York and has been operating at the intersection of finance, law and international markets for over 15 years. Prior to a career in the financial services industry, Pouya was a practicing attorney focused on banking, finance and tax for UHNW individuals, corporations and investment entities. Pouya has advised domestic and international individuals and families on public and private investments, private client (trusts & estates) matters, asset protection strategies, related tax issues and international matters.
Pouya has particular expertise with the business and legal issues surrounding investment into emerging and frontier markets and has advised large financial institutions, hedge funds and government institutions and agencies on all aspects of capital markets transactions, debt and equity financings and asset securitizations. As an attorney, Pouya practiced before the United States Tax Court and Securities and Exchange Commission and served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Renee R. Roth at the New York County Surrogate’s Court.
Pouya serves as a Board member and National Vice President of the Iranian-American Bar Association, one of the most prominent minority bar associations in the United States. He is a former member of the New York City Bar Association Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation and holds Series 7, 63 and 66 FINRA licenses.
