IABA is honored to host the Honorable Bob Ferguson, Attorney General of Washington State, as our keynote speaker. Mr. Ferguson’s office filed the lawsuit that led to the first nationwide stay of Mr. Trump’s original travel ban.
We are also proud to recognize Ms. Raha Jorjani of the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office with our Community Service Award for her exemplary work on immigrant rights issues.
In addition, our Pro Bono Award will be presented to the law firm of Keker Van Nest & Peters LLP, who partnered with the ACLU in a pro bono capacity to file suit challenging Mr. Trump’s first travel ban.
Lastly, our inaugural Distinguished Elected Official Award goes to the Honorable Ahsha Safai of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for his tireless work to protect the rights of immigrants and minorities in our community.
