IABA Joins Coalition Letter to Advance Iran Human Rights Legislation
On March 23, 2026, IABA joined a coalition of organizations in issuing a letter to the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs urging expedited markup of key Iran related human rights legislation. The letter calls for timely consideration of the Iran Human Rights, Internet Freedom, and Accountability Act of 2026 (H.R. 7622), the IRAN Act (H.R. 7380) and the FREEDOM Act (H.R. 6469), which together aim to support the Iranian people, expand access to secure communications, and strengthen accountability for human rights abuses.
Advancing these bills is a meaningful step to help drive coordinated congressional action in support of human rights and internet freedom in Iran.
