IABA Resource: 2025 Travel Ban Overview [Updated December 18, 2025]

Earlier this year, we shared a resource addressing the Trump Administration’s travel ban affecting nationals from 19 countries, including Iran. On December 16, 2025, the Administration issued a new and expanded proclamation, significantly broadening the scope of restrictions and imposing additional limitations that will take effect in January 2026. In response, we have updated our resource to reflect the latest policy changes and to help Iranian Americans and other impacted communities understand how the new rules may affect entry to the United States, what rights remain in place, and what practical steps may be available.
