IABA Resource: Temporary Family Visitation Act
On December 11, 2025, the Temporary Family Visitation Act was reintroduced in the 119th Congress in both the House and Senate. This bipartisan bill would create a new visa category allowing family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to visit temporarily for significant life events. We have prepared this resource to help community members and others understand the proposal, its goals, and its potential impact.
