IABA Scholarships for 2026
The Iranian American Bar Association is proud to announce our 2026 scholarships. We are delighted to foster the growth of law students and to invest in the leadership of future lawyers demonstrating a commitment to the Iranian American community. Thanks to our generous members, donors, and community leaders, we will award the following scholarships to deserving students dedicated to community service and public interest.
All current law students are eligible to apply. Selection criteria and deadline will vary based on the scholarship. Please see below for specific instructions regarding our scholarship categories for 2026. The application period for the 2026 IABA Scholarships is now closed. Thank you to everyone who applied.
IABA National Scholarships
The National IABA Scholarships are open to candidates from across the country.
- Judge Iravani-Sani Public Interest Scholarship: With support from IABA NorCal, the Judge Iravani-Sani Public Interest Scholarship will support a law student who is pursuing public service law. IABA would like to thank Judge Iravani-Sani for her generous contribution and for being a role model to Iranian-American law students. The scholarship award is $5,000. Due 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2026.
- IABA Foundation Scholarship: IABA Foundation grants scholarships each year to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of the Iranian-American community. Applicants must be at an accredited law school in the United States and are not otherwise receiving full educational funding from another organization. The application is due 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2026.

IABA NorCal Scholarships
IABA NorCal will have two different scholarships. All IABA NorCal scholarship applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency).
- IABA NorCal Public Interest Scholarship: We are proud to award a scholarship to a law student who is pursuing a summer internship, externship or clerkship in public interest. This includes a position at a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, government agency, or a judicial clerkship. Please note, students who will be working remotely for their public interest position are still eligible to apply. Applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency). The scholarship award is $6,000. Due 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2026.
- IABA NorCal General Scholarship: We are proud to award a scholarship to a law student who has shown leadership or commitment to the advancement of the Iranian-American community. Scholarships can be used for general law school expenses, to cover the cost of summer positions, or to cover bar exam study expenses. Applicants must have a connection to Northern California (via, employment, law school, or substantial prior residency). The scholarship award is $6,000. Due 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2026.
