Navid Afshar is the founder of Afshar Law Group, a Las Vegas–based law firm where his practice focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. A first-generation Iranian American born in Chicago, he has primarily lived in Las Vegas and has also spent time in the Bay Area. He earned both his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Following law school, Navid served as a judicial law clerk and later joined the Clark County Special Public Defender’s Office. There, he assisted trial attorneys in felony jury trials, including murder and death penalty cases, through pretrial motion practice and litigation of trial-related issues. He later handled appellate litigation, including briefing and oral argument.

Navid subsequently worked with the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Nevada as a trial attorney, representing clients in federal criminal matters from pretrial litigation through verdict, including case strategy, evidentiary motion practice, and jury selection. He has presented Continuing Legal Education programs on jury selection, trial practice, and related litigation topics, and remains engaged in the legal community through education, mentorship, and support of fellow practitioners.
