Lili Khozeimeh

Magistrate Lili Khozeimeh has been employed with the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland since November 24, 2008. Until June 2010, she worked as an attorney in the Montgomery County Circuit Court Self-Help Center. From June 2010 through March 2019, she served as the Supervising Adoption/Guardianship Case Manager. In March 2019, she was appointed as a Family Division Magistrate for the Circuit Court. Ms. Khozeimeh holds an undergraduate degree from George Washington University and a J.D. from The University of Baltimore School of Law. She is also a 2018 graduate of the Institute for Court Management. She clerked for the Chief Judge of the Montgomery County Circuit Court after law school and worked an associate attorney with Dragga, Callahan , Hannon, Hessler and Wills, LLP.

While the Supervising Adoption/Guardianship Case Manager, she was instrumental in establishing the Guardianship Special Assistant Program and a created a dedicated weekly Guardianship Docket. She has lectured extensively throughout the state, both to local bar associations and to fellow members of the judiciary, on various topics related to guardianship.

On March 20, 2019, Ms. Khozeimeh was sworn in as a Family Division Magistrate with the Montgomery County Circuit Court, making her the first Iranian American member of the judiciary in the State of Maryland. In this position, she presides over family law matters as well as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases. She is chair of the Magistrate Onboarding Sub-committee for the Administrative Office of the Courts, and a course coordinator for the Maryland Judicial College. Ms. Khozeimeh is the Treasurer-elect of the Montgomery County Bar Association, a past President of the Montgomery County Women’s Bar Association, a three-time chair of the Montgomery County Women’s Bar Triennial Auction Committee, and past community service co-chair of the Maryland Women’s Bar Association. She has been recognized as a Montgomery County Legends and Leader, has received the “Starfish” award for her work on foster care adoptions, and a volunteer recognition from the Montgomery County States Attorney’s Office.

Ms. Khozeimeh is fluent in English and Farsi, and lives in North Potomac, Maryland with her husband, Nick, and their dogs, Cyrus and Koochaloo (Lulu).
