Ryan Ghassemi

Ryan is a second-year law student at the University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law). He is currently serving a second term on the board of the Iranian American Bar Association as our Student Director and Treasurer. Ryan is also the Vice President of the National Iranian American Law Student Association. At UCI Law, Ryan is an admissions ambassador and avid pro bono volunteer. His past pro bono work includes conducting research for Giffords and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, assisting with record expungements for the Orange County Clean Slate Clinic, teaching ninth graders as a member of the Saturday Academy of Law, and assessing eligibility for USCIS Humanitarian Parole with the Afghanistan Support Project. Currently, Ryan is competing in the UCI Law Moot Court Competition and he is a staff editor with the UC Irvine Law Review. He also serves as a clinical student with UCI Law’s Community and Economic Development Clinic. This past summer, Ryan served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David O. Carter of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. This upcoming summer, Ryan will be a summer associate at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
