Lila Mirrashidi
Development Director
Lila Mirrashidi is Chief Deputy Cabinet Secretary in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom. Lila oversees the policy development for health and human services, economic development, technology, labor, and business regulation.
Prior to working in the Governor’s Office, Lila served for six years as the Deputy Secretary for Business and Consumer Relations at the Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency. Lila served in the Jerry Brown Administration for eight years in multiple roles including Deputy Appointments Secretary in the Governor’s Office and head of legal at the Department of Business Oversight. Lila was Deputy Research Director on the Jerry Brown for Governor 2010 campaign.
During law school, Lila studied at Leiden University for one semester. While living in the Netherlands, Lila was an intern at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
Lila earned a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley and J.D. from University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly U.C. Hastings).
