Ali Shokraneh
Student Co-Chair

Ali is from Tehran, Iran, and is a recent graduate of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Studies at American University Washington College of Law. He earned his first law degree from Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, in 2023.

Ali’s academic and professional interests center on international trade law and U.S. sanctions law. During his Master of Laws (LL.M.) studies, he was the recipient of the Global Talent Development Scholarship and the Seymour Rubin Endowed Scholarship, and remained actively engaged in student leadership, serving as President of the LL.M. Board.

In 2021, Ali interned with the United Nations Office in Tehran, Department of Global Communications.

Ali is passionate about empowering the Iranian legal community in the diaspora, with a particular focus on supporting Iranian international students and early-career professionals. He is fluent in English and Persian, with basic proficiency in Azerbaijani, Arabic, and French.
